Barbara Ann Graham Kronk

Barbara Ann Graham Kronk, 69, of Jefferson City, Missouri, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away on December 9, 2002 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Barbara attended school in Du Quoin and was a graduate of Du Quoin High School.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and her Master of Science in Education from University of Missouri, St. Louis.  She taught school at Granite City, Illinois for a number of years before moving to Jefferson City, Missouri, where she had been employed with the Jefferson City Public School system for over thirty years until her retirement.  She taught Remedial Reading at South School, Southwest School, East School, Gordon School, and West School in the elementary grades.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, the Missouri State Teachers Association, the Cole County Retired Teachers Association, the Missouri State Retired Teachers Association, the American Early Childhood Association, and the Cole County Historical Society where she served as a docent for the Cole County Historical Society.  She was also a member of the Adult 7 and the Koinoina Classes of the First Baptist Church, member of the Friendship Singers, the Adult Senior Council, Representative of the Concord Association for the First Baptist Church, member of the Mission Development Committee, and the Missouri Baptist Historical Commission.  She had also been with several Ministry Teams of the church, including the Homebound Ministry, the Sunday Visitation Ministry, the Caring Hands Ministry, and the Baptism Ministry.  She had been very active with the Missions of the church, being a Mission Kids Teacher, member of the Missions Committee, and a member of the Women's Mission Union.  She had been a second grade teacher of the Sunday School Class.  She had done missionary work in China and Alaska, having been to China on six different occasions.  She had also been active with the Meals on Wheels program.
She was born July 26, 1933 at Benton, Illinois, the daughter of Preston Frazier and Stella (Gilliam) Graham.
She is survived by two sisters - Maribel McMillan of Murphysboro, Illinois and Linda Sue Rolando of Alamo, Texas and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Doyle Sager and Rev. David Phelps officiating.  Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, December 15, 2002 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin with Rev. Gary Pate officiating.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin.
